Fun fact.
It may seem like a harmless grooming habit, but removing nose hairs by plucking can carry a surprisingly serious risk.
The inside of your nose lies within the “danger triangle of the face” — a region with a dense network of veins that connect directly to the brain. When you pluck a nose hair, you create a tiny wound in the follicle that can allow bacteria to enter the bloodstream.
Because the veins in this area have no valves (unlike most other veins in the body), bacteria can travel quickly toward the brain. In rare cases, this can lead to severe infections such as cavernous sinus thrombosis — a dangerous blood clot that may cause neurological damage or even life-threatening complications.
To stay safe while keeping your nose groomed, dermatologists strongly recommend using electric trimmers or blunt-tipped safety scissors instead of plucking.
