First country in the world declares energy emergency due to Middle East war
Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared a state of emergency in the energy sector, citing risks to the stability of energy supply.
The country is almost entirely dependent on imported oil, with about 98% coming from the Persian Gulf.
Since the start of the war, fuel prices have already more than doubled.
