Survey: Confidence among American professionals in the job market is collapsing, with only 28% of employees optimistic about job opportunities.

According to Mars Finance, on March 29th, KobeissiLetter released data analysis indicating that American professionals' confidence in the job market is collapsing: According to the latest Gallup survey, in the fourth quarter of 2025, only 28% of American employees believe "now is a good time to find a quality job," the lowest level in at least four years. This percentage has plummeted by 42 percentage points since the second quarter of 2022. Employees with a college degree are the most pessimistic, with only 19% believing now is a good time to find a quality job, compared to 73% in the second quarter of 2022. The percentage of employees without a college degree is 35%, also the lowest in four years. Younger employees have the lowest confidence at only 20%, while the percentage for employees aged 65 and older is 41%. American pessimism about the job market has reached an unprecedented level.
