foreign ownership of US treasuries peaked at 55% in 2008. today its around 30% the rest of the world is walking away from US debt. not slowly. that drop at the end of the chart is a cliff someone still has to buy the debt. if foreigners wont, the fed has to. and the fed buying its own governments debt has a name its called the printer
