The central government launched "Operation Skynet 2026," with multiple departments working together to crack down on underground banks transferring illicit funds overseas.

According to Xinhua News Agency, the Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Coordination Group for International Fugitive Repatriation and Asset Recovery and Cross-border Corruption Governance held a meeting to launch Operation "Skynet 2026." This operation includes a special campaign led by the National Supervisory Commission to recover stolen assets overseas in cases of duty-related crimes; the Ministry of Public Security's "Fox Hunt" special operation; the People's Bank of China, in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Security, a special operation to prevent and combat the transfer of illicit funds overseas through offshore companies and underground banks; and the Central Organization Department, together with the Ministry of Public Security and the National Immigration Administration, focusing on the management of "naked officials" (officials whose spouses and children have emigrated abroad) and addressing violations by public officials regarding private overseas travel.
