JUST IN: An Altcoin Listed on Major Exchanges Announces It Has Been Hacked

ZetaChain, a company known for its cross-chain infrastructure, announced that it had detected an attack targeting its GatewayEVM contract.

The project stated that the attack only affected internal wallets belonging to the ZetaChain team, and that user funds were safe.

ZetaChain stated that the attack vector was quickly detected and blocked, preventing further funds from being put at risk. They added that a comprehensive investigation is ongoing and a detailed post-mortem report will be shared once the investigation is complete.

On the other hand, the team announced that cross-chain transactions on ZetaChain have been temporarily suspended as a security measure. This decision was made to minimize potential risks.

ZetaChain officials stated that, according to current findings, no user funds were affected by the attack, but users who previously used the platform were advised to revoke their wallet permissions as a precaution.
