The Open Network (TON) has confirmed that its old Token Bridge will officially cease operations permanently on September 1, 2026, opening up a final period for users to reclaim their bridged assets before access is completely cut off.
The TON Foundation announces the closure of bridge-v3.ton.org and has completely waived the percentage-based transfer fees for the remaining withdrawal period to support users during this transition.
What should we do before the bridge closes?
Users holding Wrapped Toncoin (TON) on Ethereum or the BNB Chain need to bridge their Token back to the TON network via bridge-v3.ton.org before the deadline.
Those who own j- Token such as jUSDT, jUSDC, jDAI, and jWBTC in their TON wallets also need to transfer them back to Ethereum via this same bridge. After September 1st, all remaining assets held as bridge tokens will no longer be accessible.
The TON Foundation confirms that all previous user conversion requests have been processed. Additionally, the protocol has paid for any outstanding conversions that were not received.
TON TVL & DeFi Volume – Source: TON StatsThe closure of the Toncoin bridge marks a new phase for TON.
The oracles of the bridge will withdraw Stake TON in June 2026, marking the beginning of the first phase of the closure process. The oracles will continue processing transactions until the final day, giving users approximately three months to proactively withdraw their assets.
This development comes amidst the strong growth of the TON ecosystem. Telegram's acquisition of TON has changed the governance structure and helped the network maintain its momentum, while Pavel Durov's relaunch of TON has also attracted significant interest from both retail and institutional investors.
Recently, the Telegram CEO upgraded TON , further confirming the continuous development of this protocol.
The closure of the old bridge demonstrates the increasing sophistication of TON's native DeFi infrastructure. Users can monitor the TON market's evolution as the network transitions to more modern cross-chain solutions.
Users should check their wallets immediately and withdraw their assets early, before the September deadline, to avoid any network congestion or delays.
Overall, this change highlights the importance of proactively updating information, managing assets in a timely manner, and always paying attention to changes in network infrastructure.
