NordVPN warns of fake GTA 6 apps threatening cryptocurrency users.

According to Techub News, Decrypt reports that NordVPN's threat intelligence team has discovered cybercriminals are leveraging the release hype surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) to attack users through fake pre-order websites, malicious cloned apps, and phishing pages. Some of this malware specifically targets cryptocurrency owners holding digital assets. Attackers exploit players' fear of missing out by distributing malware disguised as game files, including fake graphics card drivers that can modify device memory, and Android apps that embed banking trojans and ransomware. NordVPN also points out that hackers are stealing Rockstar Social Club account credentials through fake login forms, accounts that can be resold on the Dark Web or used for in-game fraud.
