Mohammed Siraj rested for Ireland, England T20Is; Prasidh Krishna drafted in

Pacer Mohammed Siraj will miss the T20 series in Ireland and England. The BCCI has given him a break for workload management. Prasidh Krishna is his replacement for both tours. This decision ensures Siraj is fresh for upcoming challenges. India's focus on bowler workload is evident. The team management and medical staff made this call. India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I tours of Ireland and England after the BCCI decided to give him a break under its workload management programme, with Prasidh Krishna called up as his replacement. The decision comes after consultations between the BCCI medical staff and team management, who felt the pacer would benefit from a period of rest ahead of a packed international calendar. In a statement released on Tuesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India said Siraj's withdrawal was a precautionary step aimed at ensuring he remains fresh for the challenges that lie ahead later in the season. "Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been withdrawn from India's squads for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England," the board said. "Following discussions between the BCCI Medical Team and the Team Management, Siraj has been advised a period of rest as part of his workload management programme." The selectors have named Prasidh Krishna as Siraj's replacement for both assignments. Siraj has had a demanding run in recent months. After earning a late call-up to India's T20 World Cup squad, the right-arm quick featured in every one of Gujarat Titans' 17 matches during IPL 2026, finishing the campaign with 19 wickets. He also turned out for India in the one-off Test against Afghanistan, a match that concluded inside three days on Monday. While Siraj was initially included in the squads for the two-match T20I series in Ireland and the subsequent five-match series in England, he was not selected for the Asian Games squad scheduled to travel to Japan later this year. India Squad for Ireland and England T20Is: Shreyas Iyer (captain), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Shivam Dube, Tilak Varma (vice-captain), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Prasidh Krishna.
