According to Foresight News , citing the Financial Times, Reform Party leader Nigel Farage has scaled back his public media presence in recent weeks amid a parliamentary inquiry into his failure to declare a £5 million (approximately $6.4 million) grant from cryptocurrency billionaire Christopher Harborne before the 2024 general election. Data shows that Farage held 20 press conferences in the first four months of this year, but only one in May after the undeclared grant was revealed on April 29.
Critics point out that the Reform Party announced several cryptocurrency-friendly policies after the election, including plans to reduce the capital gains tax rate on crypto assets from 24% to 10% and to establish a national Bitcoin reserve at the Bank of England. Following the UK Parliament's Standards Commissioner's announcement of an investigation into the matter, the Reform Party removed its draft digital finance documents from its website at the end of May.
