According to Foresight News , citing Reuters, Polish President Karol Nawrocki stated in a statement that he has vetoed a cryptocurrency regulatory bill for the third time because the bill did not incorporate his previous suggestions. The Polish parliament passed the bill in May of this year, aiming to regulate the cryptocurrency industry. Prior to this, the bill's progress had been closely watched as the scandal surrounding the collapse of the country's largest crypto exchange continued to unfold, and as controversy intensified regarding the strength of industry regulation. The bill aims to implement the EU's Crypto-Asset Market Regulation (MiCA), and Poland needs to complete the relevant legislative approval by July.
Nawrocki has previously vetoed similar bills twice. He stated that he supports regulation of the crypto industry, but the Polish government ignored most of the amendments proposed by his office during the legislative process.
