SK Hynix added more than 2,000 employees last year.

Industry sources revealed on Sunday that SK Hynix added over 2,000 employees last year due to surging demand for memory chips driven by the global artificial intelligence boom. This expansion is particularly noteworthy against the backdrop of a slowing overall job market in South Korea. Data shows that SK Hynix's total workforce will reach 34,549 by the end of 2025, an increase of 2,159 from the previous year. During the same period, Samsung Electronics' device solutions division, responsible for its chip business, had 78,064 employees, a slight decrease from 78,699 the previous year. As of the end of last year, the two tech giants had a total of 112,613 chip-related employees, an increase of 1,554 year-on-year.
