Pakistan announced that the US and Iran have reached an agreement to end the military confrontation, with the official signing ceremony scheduled for June 19 in Switzerland.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the agreement had taken effect, while President Donald Trump confirmed the information and said the US was lifting the blockade, and expressed his expectation that Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the memorandum of Mnemonics has been finalized and will be signed this week. The Iranian side stated that Tehran's final demands were included in the document before it was agreed to be signed.
Mehr News published 14 clauses of the Mnemonics, including an immediate ceasefire on all fronts, the lifting of the maritime blockade for 30 days, a temporary suspension of sanctions on Iranian oil and petrochemicals, and allowing Tehran full access to financial resources.
The document also stated that the two sides would continue negotiations for 60 days to reach a final nuclear agreement. During this time, the US committed to not deploying additional troops or imposing new sanctions, and to establishing a monitoring mechanism to enforce the agreement.
