Mortal Kombat to Ronin Network?
As Cointelegraph reported, Ronin Network (RON) - the sidechain built on Ethereum by game project Axie Infinity - is transforming itself into a blockchain dedicated to the web3 gaming ecosystem .
To do that, the project team is attracting games about building on Ronin including:
- the game was developed by the studios of Axie Infinity and Sky Mavis themselves;
- games invested and nurtured by Sky Mavis;
- games on other blockchains move to the Ronin chain;
- partnered with web2 game developers to bring traditional titles to Ronin.
Recently, a reputable validator of Ronin Network, cloudwhite , invited Midway Games, the publisher of Mortal Kombat game, to cooperate with Sky Mavis.

Even though it's just a tweet, the community is still extremely excited at the prospect of Mortal Kombat developing on the Ronin Network.
Mortal Kombat is one of the oldest and most popular fighting game series today with nearly 800,000 monthly players. The current game has had 11 versions throughout its history.
There is also speculation that Business Development Manager Kathleen Osgood is in talks with Warner Bros. Games.

If any rumors come true, this will be an impressive milestone not only for Sky Mavis but also for the web3 gaming industry in general.
