Most open-source trading projects claiming to be AI trading offer little core value for trading. Why would they open-source something that could generate profit? Most open-source AI trading projects on the market simply provide a bunch of news sources, option data, technical indicators, and liquidation data… and that's about it.
AI is a great executor, but it's not adept at complex trading decisions or deep thinking. The real trading workflow requires you to have sustainable profitable trading capabilities and models even without AI. AI merely expands the boundaries of your strategies.
Pure AI trading at this stage is like a random walk, no different from flipping a coin. Expecting open-source projects to directly generate profits from trading is a gross overestimation of AI's intelligence.

Yesterday I also saw a financial trading open-source tool with nearly 100,000 stars, but it turned out to be just an open-source faucet; the water was someone else's pre-packaged API, and they're just selling you a SaaS annual membership.
Since AI coding emerged, the cost of producing code on GitHub has become almost zero, and it's now become a marketing tool for various products.
Now, besides managing your X (likely referring to a specific product or service), you also need to maintain your GitHub stars and followers. Things that used to require professional programmers are now being democratized by AI.
GitHub is the real place to market your IP in the future. There are so many beginners now, and they're all driven by AI anxiety, afraid of missing out on the next great open-source project. Adding a follow and a star is a low-cost activity.
