The impressive Arbitrum 2025 report shows a trend where Arbitrum is gradually transitioning from a full-scale horizontal expansion in 2025 to a vertical deepening of its technology stack in 2026.
The 2025 report is titled "The Year of Institutional Adoption." The core of this year is the RWA explosion, deployment by institutions such as Robinhood, 100+ Orbit chains, cumulative transactions of 2.1 billion+, TVL/TVS maintaining L2 leadership, and ecosystem GDP growth of 30%+.
During this phase, Arbitrum, as a "cheap and easy-to-use L2 infrastructure," attracts traffic and traditional financial institutions to the blockchain.
Entering Q1 2026, Arbitrum demonstrates a clear transition towards technological maturity:
🔹Decentralization and Security Upgrades (Stage 2 Rollup Path)
The BoLD mainnet has officially launched, enabling permissionless verification and allowing anyone to participate in dispute resolution, significantly reducing trust assumptions. Arbitrum is thus steadily moving towards becoming a true Stage 2 Rollup.
🔹Developers and the Performance Revolution (Driven by Stylus)
Stylus (which supports languages such as Rust, C++, and C) has spawned a number of AI agents and high-performance DeFi applications, optimizing execution costs by 30-50%. The AI agent's need for a low-cost execution environment and deep liquidity is highly compatible with the characteristics of Arbitrum.
🔹MEV and Revenue Sustainability (Timeboost Maturation)
Timeboost has effectively captured MEVs through public auctions, contributing millions of dollars in revenue to the Arbitrum DAO. This expands ecosystem revenue from single gas fees to high-margin (90%+) MEV capture, providing a solid foundation for the DAO's long-term sustainable funding.
🔹User Experience and Throughput Optimization (ArbOS Dia)
The ArbOS Dia upgrade in January 2026 will bring a smoother fee curve and lay the foundation for a 10x increase in throughput in the future. Fees will be more stable during peak periods, and nodes will operate more efficiently; combined with technologies such as Passkeys, the user experience for both general users and mobile devices will be significantly improved.
🔹Orbit Multi-Chain and Institutional Specific (Robinhood Chain)
The Robinhood Chain testnet has received $1 million in ecosystem sponsorship and processed millions of transactions in its first week. Arbitrum is no longer a single chain, but has evolved into a complete ecosystem of "powerful technology stack + numerous customized Orbit chains", and the framework for revenue to flow back to the DAO is also more robust.
🔹Compliance Space Opens
The SEC recently explicitly classified assets such as ARB as "digital goods" (not securities), and coupled with regulatory coordination from the CFTC, this provides clear regulatory certainty for large-scale institutional deployment, significantly accelerating the implementation of RWA, tokenized assets, and other related fields.
The new year holds even more to look forward to. @arbitrum #ARB
