I hope Waller gets the nod for next Fed Chair.
But I'm guessing Trump will put an outsider in.
Waller was appointed by Trump in 2020, and he has been working at the St. Louis Fed since 2009.
So Trump is probably viewing that as one loyal member on the voting committee through 2030 when Waller's term ends (and could be renewed, actually for another full 14-year term).
Waller might be too academic for Trump, working in assistant professor roles at University of Kentucky and Notre Dame, before getting an official professor role and Chair of Economics at Notre Dame.
So that means Hassett or Warsh are more probable, but Warsh was on the board of governors from 2006-2011.
Maybe he's enough of an outsider with insider views.
My preference, in order, is:
• Waller
• Warsh
• Hassett
