TON Foundation just launched TON Pay TON Pay is a new payments SDK that lets apps on TON accept crypto payments, starting with Telegram Mini Apps and Telegram’s massive user base. It handles onchain settlement, keeps fees low enough for micro-payments, and gives merchants a shared payments layer with dashboards, so they don’t have to build custom wallet or settlement logic. Integrate once, and payments work across TON apps. Early access is already open.

Bitcoin mining just took a big hit #Bitcoin’s mining difficulty dropped 11%, the largest negative adjustment since China’s mining ban in 2021 and one of the biggest ever. Hashrate is down roughly 20% over the past month, hit by a sharp $BTC price drawdown and widespread miner shutdowns during Winter Storm Fern in the U.S. Some estimates say around 200 EH/s went offline. At the same time, miner economics are under real pressure. Hashprice just hit an all-time low near $33/PH/day, putting most older machines underwater and leaving only the newest rigs comfortably profitable. The difficulty drop gives remaining miners some relief, but whether that actually helps depends on where $BTC price goes next.

Vietnam moves toward taxing crypto activity 🇻🇳 Vietnam’s Finance Ministry has proposed a 0.1% tax on crypto transfers for individuals using licensed platforms, mirroring stock trading taxes, while corporate crypto profits would face a 20% income tax. The draft follows Vietnam’s 2025 laws formally recognizing digital assets, marking a shift from regulatory gray areas to structured oversight. If adopted, the low transfer tax could incentivize use of licensed exchanges and influence how crypto trading migrates onshore.

Bithumb disclosed a promotional system error on Feb 6 that mistakenly credited ~620,000 $BTC across 695 internal user accounts instead of small KRW rewards. Trading was halted within ~35 minutes. About 1,788 $BTC was briefly sold before the freeze, with 99.7% of funds recovered internally and remaining losses covered by the exchange. No onchain transfers occurred. This was an internal accounting glitch, not a wallet breach or blockchain issue.

Tether backs http:/Gold.com with $150M deal @Tether is investing $150 million to acquire a 12% stake in http:/Gold.com, partnering to integrate its XAU₮ gold token and expand access to both digital and physical gold. The collaboration will allow users to purchase physical gold using $USDT, aiming to bridge crypto rails with traditional precious metals markets. XAU₮ is backed by around 140 tonnes of physical gold and commands roughly 60% of the $5.5B gold stablecoin market, a clear push by Tether toward stability focused, real world assets.

Bitwise files S-1 for spot Uniswap ( $UNI ) ETF with the SEC Bitwise filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a @Uniswap ($UNI) ETF, making it the first formal attempt to bring $UNI into an ETF wrapper. The fund would track the UNI token directly. No staking at launch, though Bitwise says that could change later. If approved, custody would be handled by Coinbase Custody Trust Company.

Binance has announced a Booster Program featuring Opinion (OPN) on Binance Wallet. The program starts on Feb 6, 2026 at 03:00 UTC, with 5,000,000 OPN allocated. Participation is based on Binance Alpha Points, so eligibility depends on users meeting the required balance. Opinion is building a prediction exchange where macro data, news, and forecasts can be traded as standardized assets.
