Ethereum Name Service is the leading blockchain naming system and continues to grow in users and integrations (most web3 wallets/dApps, Paypal, Venmo, Godaddy). It supports most major coin types and extends the global namespace, DNS, instead of ignoring it or trying to compete with it. The focus has always been open, neutral infrastructure. That’s what makes ENS the only sustainable web3 naming service. You can even import your DNS names into ENS and use them the same way you can use a .eth.

Milestone worth noting. ENS should be the first protection against scam.

Instead of copying and pasting long wallet addresses, users can send PYUSD directly to an ENS name that resolves to the correct destination behind the scenes. This reduces errors, improves usability, and makes cross-border payments feel as simple as sending a message.

How will vitalik.eth@base resolve once apps support interoperable addresses? The ENS name resolves the account, while the chain suffix resolves the execution environment through the on.eth chain registry. Both combine into a single interoperable address.
