Did we not spend years fighting against federal agencies unilaterally expanding their authorities beyond any reasonable statutory grant? Do you think the supply chain risk designation is consistent with DoW authority? Threatened criminal and civil actions? Idgaf about whatever Anthropic's ideology is that motivates their actions, I care about what the executive grants itself the power to do against its citizens...

I will never get over how the banking lobby looked at GENIUS' yield prohibition and said "Looks good. You kids have fun with your Bitcoin and your crypto and everything else you're playing with" and now Jamie Dimon is losing it on Brian Armstrong now realizing the implications.

Agree with Alex. Like GENIUS, you want to see buy-in from the pro-crypto Dems on SBC at least at a superficial level, even if they demand changes before voting for it again before the full Senate (like the Gallego letter demanded) twitter.com/SGJohnsson/status/...

If they're still asking for this (combined with the money transmitting + developer provisions), I would think that's pretty problematic? Not hard to imagine a scenario where a Treas Sec can lean on these provisions to blacklist defi that doesn't have protocol-level compliance

Sacks, usually not one to hold his tongue, decides not to answer questions...

Nugget: The White House’s David Sacks just exited the office of Sen. Tim Scott’s (R-SC). More than a dozen senators are convening there this morning to discuss the future of crypto market structure legislation. Sacks did not answer reporter questions as he departed.
