9/10 TL;DR: AI + skill + social needs = demand for persistent 3D HQs. Meta chased headsets. The human-first, accessible, ownable immersive internet is wide open.

6/10 Meta failed chasing flashy headsets + isolated worlds. Second Life peaks → Decentraland quiet → Horizon flops. Winners = easy access first, low-friction, utility-driven persistent 3D HQs. No headset gatekeeping. Daily value.

1/ 🚨 Meta is shutting down Horizon Worlds VR this June after billions invested. Adoption never left the niche. Ex-employee insight via @IndiaToday: “Management was out of touch with reality… people didn’t want to spend time there.” Matthew Ball echoes it: “It wasn’t technology, it was misreading human behavior.” People don’t want empty VR islands. They want persistent, useful 3D spaces.
