There’s a misconception that SBF was a good investor because he was up in dollar terms. But in fact SBF invested his customers’ assets, which were mostly BTC. FTX was short 100K BTC at bankruptcy. If he had just held as he was legally required to, he’d be up 10x and ~$12b.

If he didn't go to jail, SBF would be one of the greatest investors to ever do it. - FTX put in ~$500M to Anthropic in 2021–22 - One of the largest holders of Solana - SBF personally bought ~7.6% of HOOD in 2022 - Aptos, Layerzero, etc... x.com/SBF_FTX/status…

Good update on the state of Echo and crypto crowdfunding platforms. Pretty remarkable how many more top crypto VCs are coming out in support of crypto crowdfunding vs TradVCs when @AngelList came out for Web2 startups.
