Might be a dumb question: how do the Chinese labs intend to make money with their open source models long term? Winners in software infra tend to be open source (linux vs windows) I don’t see why it would be different here (provided the Chinese models become on par with the American ones)

it's almost as if crypto OGs have such a dim view of what crypto actually is the crypto casinos that we have created are insular and unconnected from the "real world". contrast that to the banking system. if the bank gives out loans, sure, it is "speculating" that a business will do well. but at least it is NOT zero sum.
