Counterpoint: If decentralisation is not the highest priority, then why not simply use centralized servers and permissioned APIs? It's more efficient. The inherent - and only - added value of crypto is decentralisation, i.e. censorship resitance & credible neutrality.

Decentralization is the motor of yield in stable coins. All economic energy in crypto comes from speculation enabled by decentralization - otherwise the opportunity existed in TradFi. Even if you're in the game only for the money, you still MUST care about decentralization.

I just want good, safe yield on my stablecoins. Don't care that much about pure decentralization. For decentralization and immutability, I just hold Bitcoin.
