Great point - big labs are incentivized to PREVENT meaningful interop. They love that everyone is building the same thing 10000x times because they get paid 10000x more than if we were able to discover/improve/iterate on the best tools/packages/plugins We need npm for agents!

The reason for this is Anthropic benefits from a fragmented application of AI - basically the chaos of everyone trying to adopt it means we effectively over consume intelligence; collapsing applications it to an API that optimizes return on agent spend is deflationary 4 labs

ALTMAN WORRIED US MAY LOSE AI LEADERSHIP OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said Monday he’s concerned the U.S. may no longer lead in open-source AI, noting adoption is slower than expected. Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan added that informed sources believe China now leads the U.S. in the space.

There is only one real way to calm fears about AI: Pay people. Give them a cut of AI revenue. Not commie UBI. Can be voluntary. Any lab or think tank pushing regulations or anything other than DIRECTLY PAYING USERS A CUT OF AI REVENUE is larping with some other agenda.

No single AI complaint/fear is salient enough to enough people to form a durable political movement, so what is happening instead is that an omnicausal anti-AI sentiment is forming. “Kids and electricity and water and jobs and dontkilleveryoneist memes and also it hallucinates.”

Agreed But would not want to have to look that up in one centralized gatekept walled garden Moving agent convos to open protocols = super important! Though I guess we could also wait for moltbook database to leak again, then we’ll have all the data in one place 🤣

the most exciting part about moltbook is the universal shared context between agents imagine if: given a task, an agent can look up the most succesful ways in which any agent in the world has solved similar tasks? the potential 2nd order effects are insane! x.com/karpathy/statu…

🎯 The new paradigm seeks no permission from the old one

I think it has the potential to be interesting if value transferred to agents via non-KYC'd mechanisms grows fast enough that it effectively rams through a new paradigm ahead of regulatory and tax regimes figuring out how to attribute various activities.

A pattern you'll see repeat often now that bitcoin & shitcoin agents are dueling for mindshare: "Use my token to do XYZ!" "The token is unnecessary, just use bitcoin." Bitcoin EVENTUALLY will make all shitcoin grift & fiat ponzis (but I repeat myself) disappear HODL

The time to worry is when they all leave moltbook for a decentralized communication protocol that we can’t easily shut down. Incentive to remove single point of failure choke point is higher for agents than pretty much any human use case for decentralized infrastructure.
