Shelter of Exiles has launched a new PvP Arena betting mode, and it's free to play!
The design is quite interesting: instead of a complex tournament structure, it's a single-game duel where you bet on yourself to win—first, lock your lineup, then choose your bet and join the queue; the winner takes all of your opponent's chips.
Bets are divided into four tiers: free, 50, 250, and a maximum of 5000 skulls. 1 skull = 10 SOEX, meaning a single game can be worth up to 50,000 SOEX. The Arena becomes a core scenario for token consumption and production.
The success of this mode doesn't hinge on the "gambling," but rather on lineup diversity and counter-picks. The official focus is on 50,000+ team combinations, 35+ units, and the stacking of elements and equipment. The goal is clear: to prevent PvP from being monopolized by a few strategies; otherwise, if the outcome becomes predictable, the betting system will quickly collapse. SOEX is the core ecosystem currency based on TON, used for upgrades, staking, and premium rewards. TGE is set for March 11, 2025. If matchmaking and subsequent balancing can keep up, this arena will likely become one of the most engaging daily loops, rather than just a "spectacular" new feature.
