Polymarket Partners with Kaito AI to Offer 'Attention Market'

Polymarket announced today a partnership with Kaito AI, allowing users to bet on the popularity and public opinion of trends, brands, and individuals.
Kaito aggregates data from multiple platforms, including X, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, to measure how much people are talking about a topic (mindshare) and whether that reaction is positive or negative (sentiment).
With this data, Polymarket can create new markets, such as:
"Will Anthropic's mindshare be higher than OpenAI's next month?"
"Will sentiment toward Elon Musk rise this month?"
My thoughts
First, as with the recent issue that led to the closure of Yap, isn't it only possible if X allows API access? I'm not sure if it's possible to effectively detect mass bots or AI slops that manipulate public opinion and then bet on it.
Rather than creating something like "Social Pie," they seem to have nailed the new main buzzword, "Attention Market."
In Hong Kong, I met with a lot of project managers, and the most common one was "Prediction Markets" (it's rare to find one that doesn't). "Predictions" seems to be the most popular keyword in 2026.
