Just received this message from a lawyer and a Tehran Uni graduate: “Hello. On Saturday night, I was shot from the waist down in the Sadeghieh neighborhood. For one full day and night, I stayed at home with infection, pain, and a 40‑degree fever and did not go to the hospital. I underwent a minor operation at a veterinary clinic, performed by a veterinarian, in non‑sterile conditions. I lost some of my colleagues. One person was also blinded. Both were PhD students at Sharif University. Please make these matters known. No one knows what has happened in Iran in recent days.” This is a screenshot of a message from an Iranian girl in Sadeghieh, Tehran. She is one of many who have reached out to me through sporadic internet access, curfews, and shutdowns.
