Most people's prompting problem has nothing to do with prompting.
They sit down, type something vague into Claude and blame the model when they get generic output.
The actual problem is you don't know what you want with enough precision to communicate it.
fuzzy idea in your head → fuzzy words on screen → fuzzy output every single time
The model only knows what you type. It can't read your mind.
So the real skill isn't better prompts, it's sharper thinking before you ever open the chat.
1. ask yourself uncomfortable questions
2. find references
3. get crystal clear on what makes your desired output different from everything else
Once you have that clarity, the prompt writes itself.
Prompting isn't a typing skill. It's a thinking skill. And most people skip the thinking part entirely.
gotta prompt better
Gotta prompt smarter
