ZKsync will conduct a one-time token airdrop to 695,232 eligible wallets next week, totaling 3.675 billion ZK tokens, or 17.5% of the total ZK token supply of 21 billion. An additional 49.1% of the token supply will be allocated through ecosystem programs, with 17.2% going to investors and 16.1% to the Matter Labs team. The eligibility and allocation of the airdrop are based on a snapshot of ZKsync Era and ZKsync Lite activity taken at 0:00 UTC on March 24, 2024, marking the first anniversary of the launch of the ZKsync Era mainnet. The airdrop is based on a points system. Wallets earn points for certain actions, such as interacting with 10 smart contracts on ZKsync Era, depositing liquidity into DeFi protocols, and trading more than 10 ERC-20 tokens. Points can also be earned through some activities on ZKsync Lite, such as donating to Gitcoin rounds or trading in the three months before the ZKsync Era mainnet launch. After the points are distributed, each wallet receives an allocation based on the assets bridged to ZKSync Era. Addresses can receive double rewards based on their activity on ZKsync and the Ethereum mainnet. After this process, addresses with less than 450 ZK tokens have their tokens recycled into the pool. Addresses with more than 100,000 tokens also have their excess tokens recycled. In the end, the minimum allocation per wallet is at most 917 ZK.
