On April 19 this year, Avail announced the airdrop rules, which marked the beginning of the first wave of scams by the project.

However, the subsequent airdrop claiming website disappointed many people. Many testnet participants and L2 heavy active users who were sure they would gain something received the result of "Not Eligible" in the qualification query. For a time, there was constant criticism online, complaining about the rules and standards, and even questioning the fairness. Many users even called the project party "rat trading".
As a modular settlement layer, Dymension is objectively a client of Avail DA. These connections have caused many users to buy DYM and pledge it in anticipation of Avail's airdrop.
But in the end, the airdrop was not given to DYM stakers.
Users who participated in the node operation were also fooled. It was claimed that 5% of the nodes would be randomly selected to receive airdrops. But in fact, when I asked the big users around me who had built thousands of nodes, they did not receive any airdrops either.
If it is really a random draw, only 50 out of 1,000 nodes should be selected. If there is none, it basically proves that there is insider trading.
Community users all sought redress, and under pressure, Avail still launched a second phase of airdrops, which appeased some community users.
Taiko refuses to respond to airdrop rules
Another star project, Taiko, simply does not announce the airdrop rules. If there is, there is; if there is not, there is not.
This fraud was done with a clear conscience.
Wang Dong, co-founder of the project, first posted on X that "In order to avoid unnecessary debate, we will not disclose the detailed TKO Genesis airdrop rules. Our goal is fairness, but we cannot satisfy everyone. Congratulations to those who received TKO, and apologies to those who did not."
Soon after, as more and more voices of doubt and even insults appeared on the X platform, Wang Dong also seemed to be angered and spoke again on Discord:
IO is a PUA master

IO only allocated 32 million tokens to miners, but the computing power of each miner's machine is unlimited, and the maintenance is very complicated. It also requires real money investment, which resulted in many studio teams in this project being defeated in the end. Based on the current currency price, they have not even recovered half of the cost of the machine.
zkSync is no longer needed
If the previous projects were still somewhat respectable, at most they were stingy and small in scale.
The zkSync project is an obvious insider trading and is a scam.
zkSync raised funds in the last round of the bull market, with a staggering amount of $258 million! No project with a larger financing scale than this has appeared in this round.
The lead investors are also well-known names such as Dragonfly and a16z.

The addresses that received the airdrops were all strange. There were 12,000 addresses that had no interaction records. Those who received relatively large ecological airdrops were all their own connections.
Airdrops are essentially marketing expenses
