OKX has launched a Telegram mini-app game called ' OKX Racer', the cryptocurrency exchange announced on Monday. This free game asks users to guess the price of Bitcoin (BTC) every five seconds. Players must predict whether the price will increase (“Moon”) or decrease (“doom”) to earn points.
OKX said players can earn more points if they guess correctly consecutively or by referring friends. Players can use these bonus points to purchase in-game upgrades such as enhancing their fuel tanks.
OKX Racer players can also link their accounts and complete know-your-customer (KYC) verification for future “surprises,” the company added .
OKX claims that it is the “first” major centralized Cryptoasset exchange to release a Telegram mini app.
While playing, OKX Racer users are given 10 predictions before having to wait for the next guess to reload, which occurs every minute and 30 seconds. Each correct guess earns the player 10 points, but they do not lose points for incorrect guesses.

It is unclear whether the exchange plans to convert OKX Racer points to cryptocurrency, similar to Notcoin's popular tap-to-earn model, where users are Airdrop with cryptocurrency.
Notcoin launched its NOT Token on the TON blockchain in May, becoming the largest crypto gaming Token this year, with a market Capital of over $1.5 billion.
According to OKX chief innovation officer Jason Lau, the decision to launch the Telegram microapp was aimed at “embracing easy-to-use, interactive, and accessible platforms that help build community, encourage participation and encourage fun.”
Telegram uses web-based applications that run inside the social network called “mini-apps”. These apps allow crypto projects to launch directly within Telegram – users do not need to install the app on their devices to gain access.
Telegram, along with the TON blockchain, has become a hub for so-called 'clicker games' such as Hamster Kombat, Tapswap and Notcoin .
These games often pay people to tap their smartphone screens and have large Watcher . Hamster Kombat alone claims to have more than 250 million players.
OKX Racer is not the first platform to use Bitcoin prices for gaming purposes. In 2019, Solana -based platform Hxro introduced a similar game called MoonRekt.
The game allowed users to bet HXRO tokens (about 5 coins at the time) on whether the price of BTC would increase or decrease over a five-minute period.
