The Nikkei 225 index futures continue to rebound, currently up over 6.5%.

On Monday, due to traders' expectations of further interest rate hikes in Japan, as well as concerns about the slowdown in the US economy and the appreciation of the yen, which dampened investor sentiment, the Japanese stock market fell for the third consecutive day. The Nikkei 225 index fell by more than 7% at one point, and the Tokyo Stock Exchange index triggered a circuit breaker, with both of Japan's major benchmark indices entering a bear market. Traders' expectations that the Federal Reserve will be able to engineer a soft landing for the US economy are rapidly changing. Data released on Friday showed that the US unemployment rate unexpectedly rose to 4.3%, higher than the Federal Reserve's year-end forecast, triggering the Sahm recession indicator. UBS Group's senior US economist, Brose, said: "Given that the unemployment rate is higher than expected and core personal consumption expenditure inflation is currently lower than the Federal Reserve's year-end forecast, we believe that from a risk balance perspective, the Federal Reserve is inclined to take more aggressive action."

Traders are betting that the Bank of Japan will continue to raise interest rates, and the Japanese stock market continued to plummet on Monday.

US stock index futures continued to decline, with Nasdaq futures falling by 3%. The European session has not yet begun, but European stock index futures have fallen sharply, with the Eurostoxx 50 index and the main stock index futures in Germany and France falling by more than 1%. The MSCI Asia Pacific index plummeted 5%, and is expected to wipe out the gains made in 2024.

The US/JPY rose by more than 3% intraday, and after the yen further soared, the decline in the Japanese stock market accelerated. Banks and insurance companies are the worst performing stocks in the Japanese stock market.

The KOSDAQ, the South Korean venture capital index, halted trading after plunging 8%, and the index has erased all the gains it had made since the regulatory authorities implemented a ban in early November last year.

The Taiwan stock market plunged 1,700 points, with a daily decline of 8%.

The Australian stock market hit its lowest level since the end of June.
