PANews, August 12 - According to the latest weekly report from CoinShares, digital asset investment products saw total inflows of $176 million, as investors viewed the recent price weakness as a buying opportunity. The total AUM of investment products has declined to $75 billion, losing over $20 billion in the adjustment, but has since rebounded to $85 billion. ETP trading activity was far above normal, at $19 billion this week, compared to a weekly average of $14 billion so far this year.

Ethereum benefited the most from the recent market adjustment, attracting $155 million in inflows last week. This brings its year-to-date inflows to $862 million, the highest level since 2021, mainly due to the recent launch of a US spot ETF.

Bitcoin saw capital outflows at the start of the week, but experienced significant inflows in the last few days, resulting in a total weekly inflow of $13 million. Short Bitcoin ETPs saw the largest outflows since May 2023, totaling $16 million (23% of AUM), indicating that a significant number of investors have exited their short positions, bringing the AUM of short positions to the lowest level since the start of the year.
