This morning Vietnam time, a shark wallet that had been "hibernating" for 10.8 years suddenly became active again.
According to data from WhaleAlert, a wallet address containing 24 BTC, currently worth around $1,456,683, has just been activated and the Bitcoin has been moved. This is a remarkable event as the Bitcoin has remained unchanged since 2013, when its value was around $10,915.
Notably, the investment performance of this shark wallet after 11 years is an impressive testament to Bitcoin's profit potential.
When the owner of this wallet received 24,873 BTC in 2013, the total value of these Bitcoins was only about $10,915. However, with the explosive growth of Bitcoin over the past decade, the current value of these BTC has increased significantly, reaching about $1.46 million at the moment. This represents a whopping return of nearly 13,300%, an impressive figure for any type of investment.
This wallet has a very limited transaction history with only two transactions made during its lifetime:
- First transaction (11 years ago): At that time, this wallet received 24,873 BTC, equivalent to about $10,880 at that time. These Bitcoins have been safely stored in the wallet without any transaction activity until today.
- Second transaction (3 hours ago): After more than a decade of silence, this wallet made a large transaction, moving all 24,873 BTC ($1.46 million) to a new wallet address: bc1q0fm0au2xn0t65g53dutw2gw8ujqvqqvc5tpswe. Notably, this new wallet address holds no other assets and has never made any transactions on the chain before.
