Abstract
Ethereum is known for its strong economic security. Few weeks ago, there was an ongoing debate about whether this concept has turned into a meme. We’ll begin by recapping the concept of economic security, then look at the views of one of its main critics, Solana founder Anatoly, and assess whether his arguments hold merit. This discussion will cover the connections between staking, economic security, Ethereum’s security and shared security. We’ll also explore the meaning of “meme” in this context and whether it is necessarily negative. Finally, we’ll look ahead to future of Ethereum’s economic security and potential opportunities for venture capital.
