Web3 security company Certiq visited Korea again this year. Certiq has shown interest in the Korean market for a long time. It has been with Busan City as a founding partner since the beginning and has already actively communicated with local governments, such as signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for virtual asset collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government. Jason Zhang (pictured), Chief Business Officer (CBO) of Certiq, who met with Decenter on the 4th, said, “We are focusing on Asia, where the Web3 field is expected to develop more actively,” and “Certiq is auditing all on-chain products of the Korean project WEMIX and is also strengthening its relationship with KAIA.”

The portfolio of 'Certik Ventures', established in May to invest in blockchain projects, also includes Wemix and Line. He explained, "We have been investing in funds since 2022, and started investing in projects starting in May." He added, "We wanted to contribute more in terms of industry security by investing in individual projects." Certik Ventures plans to increase accessibility to security technology and cooperate in building a safer ecosystem through project investment. "We do not plan to limit our investment to the Web3 sector, such as helping Web2 companies transition to Web3," said Jang. "We want to create a highly secure ecosystem and help popularize it."



He pointed out that blockchain security still has a long way to go. Jang CBO said, “I think there has been progress in the security of exchanges and the blockchain ecosystem thanks to the new security technologies that have emerged so far,” but also pointed out that “there seem to be too many problems caused by memcoins at present.” In particular, based on the judgment that there is a lack of means to audit memcoins, Certik recently launched ‘Skynight MemScan,’ a solution that allows you to easily check the audit results of various blockchain-based memcoins, such as Solana (SOL). Jang CBO also emphasized that public awareness of blockchain security must be improved. He said, “As virtual asset spot index funds (ETFs) are permitted and traditional funds enter the Web3 market, the overall virtual asset market will rise, but it will not draw a gentle upward curve.” He added, “There will be repeated ups and downs in the process of resolving Web3 security and regulatory compliance, and Certik will continue to cooperate with companies to develop the industry.”
