On September 19, according to official news, North American Bitcoin mining company Hut 8 announced that it would cooperate with digital currency mining server manufacturer Bitmain to launch a new generation of ASIC mining machine U3S21EXPH. The performance of this mining machine can reach 860 TH/s and the energy efficiency ratio is 13 J/TH.
Hut 8 plans to deploy the miner through a hosting agreement of about 15 EH/s in the second quarter of 2025, and may switch to autonomous mining through the purchase of options. This cooperation will help Hut 8 expand its computing power, with the hosting computing power increasing from 18.5 EH/s to about 33.5 EH/s.
