The Uniswap Labs team, the developers of the decentralized exchange Uniswap, has announced the launch of the Layer2 network Unichain. Unichain is built on Optimism's OP Stack technology, reducing transaction costs by approximately 95% compared to Ethereum L1. In the future, it will also introduce a decentralized verification network, allowing nodes to verify blocks. Additionally, Unichain is collaborating with Flashbots to develop the use of Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) for block construction. Unichain is planned to launch on the testnet on October 10, with the mainnet release coming later this year.
