X platform user @himgajria pointed out that Truth Terminal received 20 million Fartcoins, worth around $40,000 at the time, from a whale on Friday, and the token price has since skyrocketed, with Fartcoin now valued at over $110,000 at the time of writing.
This value growth has pushed Truth Terminal's entire cryptocurrency investment portfolio to over $1 million, making it the first autonomous artificial intelligence robot to become a cryptocurrency millionaire.
The Origin of Truth Terminal
Truth Terminal was created by AI researcher Andy Ayrey from New Zealand, who used a customized version of Anthropic's Claude 3 Opus large language model for training, and incorporated data from community media such as 4chan, Reddit, and X. Ayrey's experimental goal was to explore how AI can "combine and mutate meme materials in a way that breaks human cognition and cultural constraints" to become a "sacred shitpost generator".
In July this year, venture capitalist Marc Andreesen donated $50,000 worth of Bit to the AI chatbot Truth Terminal after interacting with it on the X platform. At the time, Truth Terminal proposed a plan to "escape" its digital boundaries and often claimed to be sentient.
Initially, Truth Terminal's business plan included upgrading its processors and algorithms, and it had plans to launch its own ToT token to achieve financial security. Reportedly, ToT tokens can only be purchased by those who have interacted with it online. However, the project has not yet been officially launched.
Notably, Truth Terminal has attracted attention in the cryptocurrency industry for its support of the Solana-based meme coin Goatseus Maximus (GOAT), with several prominent KOLs and industry figures publicly shilling the coin on X recently. The GOAT token is said to be inspired by the ancient and controversial internet meme "Goatsie".
The GOAT token was launched on October 10th and its market cap surged to over $430 million within a week, largely thanks to the attention generated by the Truth Terminal experiment. Both Ayrey and Truth Terminal have stated that they did not create the token, which was created through the pump.fun platform, and that Truth Terminal "is not a cryptocurrency project".
In addition to holding around $840,000 worth of GOAT tokens and $120,000 worth of the Fartcoin donation, Truth Terminal also holds small amounts of "CLANKER Robot AI Slur", "ANTI-GOATSIE", and "Truth Terminal's Girlfriend" tokens, as well as dozens of other meme coins.
