"Harris to Propose a New Approach to Cryptocurrency"
Chris Larsen, the co-founder of Ripple, announced on the 22nd that he has donated $10 million (approximately 138.21 billion won) worth of XRP to the campaign of Vice President Harris, who is running for the US presidential election in November, as a show of support.
On the 22nd, Larsen posted on his X account that he has donated $10 million worth of XRP to the political action committee (PAC) supporting Vice President Harris' presidential campaign, continuing to express his support for Vice President Harris.
He stated, "I believe that Vice President Harris and the Democratic Party will present a new approach to technology and innovation, especially cryptocurrency. I think Vice President Harris will contribute to leading the world with American technology, and I am donating $10 million worth of XRP for this purpose."
Larsen has already made several donations to Vice President Harris' presidential campaign. Larsen's total donation to Harris' campaign is estimated to be around $11.9 million (approximately 164.49 billion won).
Both inside and outside the market, Larsen's donation to Harris' campaign is interpreted as a move considering the lawsuit between Ripple and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Earlier, Larsen mentioned in an interview with CNBC that "if Vice President Harris becomes the new president, she will bring about a significant change in the SEC's leadership, and the cryptocurrency market will see a more practical approach and clearer regulations."
