On October 22, the Avalanche Foundation announced the launch of the Avalanche Card on X, supporting payments in WAVAX, USDC, sAVAX and other tokens at Visa-accepting merchants.
It is known that both physical and virtual cards will be available, and users will have a custodial wallet with a new address. This card will initially be issued in the Latin America and Caribbean region, with residents or citizens of Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Russia, North Korea, Syria, Iran, as well as the Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk regions, not eligible to register, regardless of where they reside.
It is known that Visa has taken very positive steps related to Stablecoin payments, having previously expanded to Ethereum and Solana, and now Avax Foundation has also officially joined the payment system, with the waitlist for its card now open here.
