Ripple Founder Larsen Donates $10 Million Worth of XRP to Harris

Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen donated $10 million worth of XRP to the election campaign of US presidential candidate Kamala Harris. According to CoinDesk on the 22nd (local time), Larsen additionally donated $10 million worth of XRP to Future Forward, the largest Democratic super PAC. In August, Larsen donated $1.75 million to Future Forward and hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democratic congressional election campaigns. Larsen said, "It's time for the Democratic Party to take a new approach to technological innovation, including cryptocurrencies," and "Candidate Harris will ensure that America's technological prowess can lead the world." The key figures in the cryptocurrency industry who support Trump include Jesse Powell of Kraken and Ben Horowitz of Andreessen Horowitz. However, Horowitz said earlier this month that he plans to donate a significant amount to the Harris-Waltzes campaign based on his long-standing friendship with Harris. They mostly donate to super PACs to support specific candidates, as there are limits on the amount they can donate directly to individual campaigns.
