Last weekend, Elon Musk stated that he is not "actively involved" in cryptocurrency, but simply supports Dogecoin, the famous cryptocurrency known for its humorous nature and Shiba Inu dog image.
At a rally supporting Donald Trump in Pennsylvania on Sunday, the world's richest billionaire was asked about the application of blockchain technology in the government. Elon Musk, who is currently a Republican and publicly supports the former President Trump's bid for a second term, shared that Trump had previously proposed that Musk could lead an effective government agency, called the Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE), if he were to return to power in the future.
Elon Musk emphasized:
"I'm really not actively involved in the cryptocurrency field. I just create jokes and content about Dogecoin because I simply like it - Dogecoin has wonderful humor, combining MEME and the Shiba Inu image, which I love."
Currently, Dogecoin (DOGE) is the ninth-largest cryptocurrency by Capital. Initially created as a joke, Dogecoin has attracted a large number of fans and has seen strong growth since 2020 when Musk began posting MEME-related content about the cryptocurrency.
This is not the first time the CEO of SpaceX has refuted rumors about his involvement in Donald Trump's cryptocurrency policy. In May, Musk stated that he "has never discussed cryptocurrency" with Trump, after Bloomberg published an article claiming the two had discussed the issue.
