As US President-elect Donald Trump pledges to fire SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, it has been reported that he is considering former SEC attorney Goody Guillen as a candidate to become the next SEC chairman.
On the 20th (local time), CoinDesk reported that Attorney Goody Guillen, who is being mentioned as a candidate for the next SEC chairman, is a pro-virtual asset figure who has opposed SEC excessive regulation. Attorney Guillen is the head of the blockchain team at large law firm Baker Hostetler. He worked as an attorney in the SEC's Office of General Counsel from 2009 to 2011. Since then, he has served as the chief operating officer (COO) and managing director of Kalorama Partners, advising clients on SEC enforcement litigation.
