"a.k.a. What will save you, our common BTC"
From the perspective of the properties of currency, BTC indeed cannot excel. But it has to be admitted that crypto is trying to accomplish some disruptive things, but disruption has never been an easy task. Sometimes it requires the use of all kinds of power, whether good or bad. Since the US SEC approved the listing of BTC spot ETFs, BTC has gradually become a plaything for Wall Street capital and politicians, far from its original mission of becoming a "decentralized currency".
But from another perspective, the media effect triggered by BTC's price breaking through $100,000 has successfully brought crypto and decentralization into the mainstream public's view.
Behind BTC breaking $100,000 are not only the power of the decentralized community, but also a mixture of many other interest groups, even the Wall Street capital that crypto wants to disrupt. It's hard to say who borrowed whose power.
From the perspective of crypto, this is a successful "Marketing" event for "decentralization" completed with the help of capital power. But from the perspective of capital or politicians, it may be another story.
Crypto is still very immature. But many of the innovations and ideas it has proposed, such as decentralization, sovereignty, and privacy protection, are issues that society cannot ignore.
Borrowing power for development, or to be more blunt, serving "evil", should be a very prominent feature of the crypto industry. And this prominent feature can be traced back to the ancestor of BTC.
The idealistic decentralization of BTC is supported by a very primitive token incentive mechanism. The earliest mainstream applications of BTC were also through the black market and illegal activities. Including the later notorious ICOs, and even the current meme.
"Justice" or "Evil" may be a near-synonym
The crypto industry is very interesting, with people who have very idealistic desires to change the world, and also those who just want to use the industry to deceive and profit. What's more interesting is that these "bad guys" who just want to use the industry to deceive, through a series of bad deeds, have inadvertently promoted the growth and development of the industry.
Even the ill-reputed memecoin that has grown up by taking advantage of human greed and the loopholes in the current social capital system is to some extent an expression of "financial nihilism", or even a kind of "anger" and "rebellion".
There is always a voice in the industry calling for a return to the orthodox way of development. But behind the orthodoxy, one cannot ignore the laws of the world's operation. The greed, desire, and dissatisfaction inherent in human nature, these "evil" words, are a kind of natural selection, the driving force for human and social evolution and continuous progress.
It is intertwined with survival.
Sometimes, to defeat evil, you have to become more evil than evil. But what is evil after all? Or which kind of evil is more evil? After seeing the Lolita Island incident packaged by the so-called upright people, the blatant "evil" seems to be more straightforward than the hidden righteousness?
There is an even more important question, how to understand "evil".
Or, behind the world's progress, we should consider more about how to accommodate and parallel or balance.
And this is exactly what crypto wants to accomplish:
"to build a reliable distributed system on top of unreliable infrastructure"
In this process, perhaps "evil" and "justice" have never been opposites, but a near-synonym, they depend on each other and achieve each other.
Perhaps crypto can serve as a container, allowing "evil" and "justice" to go hand in hand.
Does logic really exist?
The development of many things is difficult to explain through logic. Especially when things that the public considers absurd become a reality.
But what is absurd or ridiculous? What is logical?
Do things that seem logical really make sense? Are some things that seem absurd really ridiculous? What power is driving the development of absurd things?
For example, some people think it's ridiculous to see tokens as money. But from the perspective of taxation, it's not unreasonable to treat the chain as a country and tokens as money, because it involves why fiat currency can become a universal currency. Some scholars believe that the reason fiat currency can be widely circulated is due to the taxation behavior in the form of fiat currency.
And do things that seem logical really make sense? Or does this logic still fit the current scenario? For example, does a currency have to have the three functions of SoV, UoV and/or MoE? Does the account necessarily need to use a stable currency as the unit of account? What is the meaning of SoV? Will the future SoV still be in the form of currency?
Or is crypto necessarily decentralized?...
Have we overlooked something more important?
I don't know. But I think we can't just focus on TPS, UX, DX, composability, or even decentralization. This is also why I like Cosmos, and why I like Anoma - Cosmos has Sovereignty behind it, and Anoma starts with reconstructing the collaboration mechanism - so it proposes "intent", the fulcrum of human-to-human collaboration.
But I also feel that a straightforward approach is hard to really solve the problem, being too focused will make people ignore the "gifts" that "God" brings you, and these gifts are usually wrapped in misunderstood clothes, just like memecoins, we need to feel them without bias.
Yes, I'm saying we need to feel the "evil", there may be the key to solving the puzzle.
Does accuracy matter? It does. But compared to some other things, it doesn't seem that important
Sometimes, these inexplicable things are often called "art", or "intuition" or "impulse", and they are usually in conflict with rationality, and if not handled properly, they may also be interpreted as "stupidity".
But this is a more powerful energy that erupts from within, compared to rationality.
Humans are the product of rationality and logic, and we stand at the top of the food chain because of thinking, rationality and logic. But don't forget those primitive impulses that support our survival, they have made many meaningful moments in our lives, they are precious, please cherish them.
To some extent, the spirit of BTC or cryptocurrencies is imbued with a lot of primitive impulses, and it has very strong controversies. But behind the controversy, it also represents many affirmed aspects. There may be many scams disguised as idealism, but you have to admit that their original intentions and aspirations are benevolent and upright. For the new forces that want to complete the disruption while facing huge obstacles, you have to seize every possible power.
When the main road is impassable, you have to "walk the crooked path".
Does accuracy matter? It does. But compared to some other things, it doesn't seem that important.
When the tools and resources are lagging behind, unable to keep up with the speed of development of other forces, how to catch up? The only choice is to ignore the rules, not step on the brakes. Ride the wind, grow in mistakes, and constantly correct the path.
Some people see some negatives, but you need to know that this is power, and what you need to do is to harness it.
I understand the development of crypto as an unstoppable monster that devours all kinds of power.
But this monster always has an anchor, or a vision.
It's hard to describe what this vision is specifically, but you know this vision will guide crypto, becoming the rudder for crypto's confused/chaotic and foggy forward movement, leading the direction.
Sometimes you don't need to understand the existing rules, just push the right thing.
How to save you, the bearer of the crypto hope, the BTC
BTC has completed its mission when it broke through $100,000. Although it is the enlightenment and belief of the entire crypto, it now seems to have only scarcity left. Because the decentralized chips have not been well distributed, it is difficult to say whether it will not eventually become a plaything.
And if BTC ultimately becomes just a plaything of capital like stocks, then from the perspective of crypto, it would be meaningless.
Originally, I think there should be a new and fairer token/Non-Fungible Token or any form to commemorate Satoshi, to commemorate BTC.
But I think BTC will always be BTC, and it cannot be replaced by any token. What we should do more is to launch a BTC rescue plan.
Enlightenment should not be forgotten, nor should it become a plaything. No token can have more symbolic significance than BTC. And symbolic significance has never been something empty, it is important.
What is our relationship with all of us?
We have been trapped in powerless rules for too long. To the extent that we forget that we are also the most solid part of this society.
The description of the vast majority is usually "the mob". It seems that "the mob" is only a group that is deceived and utilized or can only produce negative effects. But each "mob" has its own moral yardstick in their heart. Don't let reality and rules swallow the justice benchmark in your heart. Don't let yourself really become "the mob".
What kind of world do you want this world to become? The will of each individual is very important to this question. Because it is the foundation for forming a powerful force, what we need to do is to maintain this foundation well, so that even if other interest parties borrow power, the ultimate beneficiary is still the common vision formed by our will.
Finally, I wish we can create miracles.
And I wish the world, I wish we have the courage to face our true selves, I wish we can become more and more resilient, I wish all beings can find that moment that lights up their lives in their lives, and I wish all beings have autonomy.
