Fuel pre-deposit users reaped a bountiful harvest in the Genesis airdrop, but the eligibility criteria for the testnet airdrop were set extremely high.

After the Penguin airdrop, Fuel also opened its airdrop query window. 20% of the total Fuel supply will be allocated to the Fuel community, of which 10% will be used for the Genesis Drop; 5% will go to community collaboration platforms; and 5% will be used for unannounced incentives, plans, events and activations.
The Fuel Genesis Drop will allocate 100 million FUEL (10% of the total supply) to over 200,000 unique addresses, and will open for claiming from December 19, 2024 to January 19, 2025.
The specific airdrop allocation is as follows:
- Phase 1 pre-deposit users: 287,000,000 FUEL
- Testnet users: 64,200,000 FUEL
- NFT holders and traders: 125,000,000 FUEL
- Fuel cross-chain users: 200,000,000 FUEL
- Ecosystem Glass Eaters: 138,800,000 FUEL
- Open-source community: 175,000,000 FUEL
- Fuelet Magisters: 10,000,000 FUEL
According to community feedback, the Phase 1 pre-deposit user airdrop was quite generous, with some users receiving 10,000 tokens for depositing 1 ETH. However, the eligibility criteria for the testnet airdrop are very strict, requiring at least 16 transactions on the Fuel Sepolia testnet and at least 16 days of activity. The specific rules are as follows:
Phase 1 pre-deposit users: 287,000,000 FUEL
Eligibility criteria:
- Participated in the Fuel Ignition program Phase 1.
- Bridged all eligible assets to Fuel Ignition by November 22, 2024.
- Deposited qualifying assets for at least 7 days and held at least 3 Ignition points.
- Qualified for the Phase 1 Ignition program and are not from restricted countries or regions.
Phase 2 is still ongoing.
Testnet users: 64,200,000 FUEL
Eligibility criteria:
- Completed at least 16 transactions on the Fuel Sepolia testnet and were active for at least 16 days.
- Snapshot date: July 15, 2024. Eligibility start date: May 30, 2024.
If you participated in the Fuel Sepolia testnet but do not meet the above criteria, Fuel reminds users to fill out this form before 3:00 PM CET on December 18, 2024.
Exclusion criteria:
- Analyze asset flows to identify wallet clusters. Within each cluster, wallets displaying the same or nearly identical patterns are classified as Sybil. Apply outlier detection to the final results to ensure accuracy and identify any anomalies.
NFT holders and traders: 125,000,000 FUEL
A total of 5,944 NFT holder addresses meet the following criteria. Fuel has also introduced adjustments aimed at providing more meaningful rewards for non-whales.
Eligibility criteria:
Holding an NFT on Fuel Ignition as of 9:00 PM on December 13, 2024.
Eligibility tiers (levels):
- Tier 1 (OG series): Executors, Pumps, Monkees, Pengus
- Tier 2 (Early series): Rocks, Fuel Dudes
- Tier 3: Adhering to proper NFT standards
- Tier 4: Not adhering to proper NFT standards
Fuel cross-chain users: 200,000,000 FUEL
The snapshot for Fuel cross-chain users was taken at 9:00 PM on December 13, 2024.
Eligibility criteria:
- Bridged eligible assets to Fuel Ignition before 9:00 PM on December 13, 2024.
- The dollar value of assets in the network multiplied by the number of days the value was in the network is greater than 300.
Eligibility tiers:
- Light participants: Bridged one or more qualifying assets to Fuel Ignition but did not interact with applications in any on-chain detectable way.
- Deep participants: Bridged one or more qualifying assets to Fuel Ignition and spent some time using Fuel and its ecosystem applications.
- Advanced users: Bridged one or more qualifying assets to Fuel Ignition and took on some liquidity risk in the following ecosystem projects: Mira, SwayLend, Griffy.
Ecosystem Glass Eaters: 138,800,000 FUEL
Eligibility tiers:
- Ecosystem builders: Individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to building and driving the Fuel ecosystem.
- Ecosystem projects: Individuals or teams that delivered fully functional applications by December 10, 2024 at the latest, within the Fuel Ignition program timeframe.
- Ecosystem auditors: Contributors who have made significant auditing contributions to projects within the Fuel ecosystem.
- Fuel researchers: Individuals or teams who have conducted meaningful research that contributes to the architecture or understanding of Fuel and its ecosystem.
- Fuel Discord moderators: Active administrators who have played a continuous role in fostering and maintaining the Fuel Discord community.
- Regional communities: Individuals or groups managing or leading external or regional Fuel communities, helping to expand and support Fuel's global reach.
- Early Fuel ambassadors: Individuals who participated in the Fuel ambassador program and provided support in Fuel's early stages.
Open-source community: 175,000,000 FUEL
Eligibility criteria:
- 5+ commits to key open-source libraries that significantly advance the project's progress using Fuel.
- 5+ commits to projects related to the Fuel ecosystem or that have made significant contributions to the broader blockchain community.
- As an external developer, merged a meaningful PR into a Fuel repository.
