The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) have begun cooperation for the mutual growth of the blockchain and information security industries.
The two organizations held the 'Blockchain-Information Security Alliance Collaboration Day' at the E-Tower in Seoul on the 18th. This event was the first joint participation of the Blockchain Demand and Supply Association (ABLE) and the Information Security Association (K-Security Alliance), and was held successfully with the attendance of approximately 150 industry professionals. ABLE, a public-private cooperative body, currently has 82 participating companies, and plays a role in connecting blockchain-related demand and supply issues and supporting overseas expansion and investment attraction. K-Security Alliance focuses on promoting collaboration between security companies and strengthening global competitiveness with the goal of developing an integrated security model.
In the keynote speech, Google Cloud Policy Director Myung-soo Kim presented on the topic of 'Importance of Collaboration and Cooperation in the ICT Sector and Global Trends', and Amazon Korea CISO Ho-seok Lee presented on the topic of 'Importance of Collaboration for Advanced Cloud Security', sharing global cooperation cases and the latest technology trends. The blockchain session that followed covered various topics such as △Global blockchain market and investment trends △2025 Blockchain overseas expansion support plan △Demand for blockchain technology from the perspective of investors △Collaboration plans between financial institutions and blockchain companies △Corporate preparation plans for technology special listing △Blockchain IP-R&D business briefing session, etc.
In the information security session, the following were announced: △K-Security collaboration case awards, △Sharing of integrated security model development results, △2024 results and 2025 implementation plans. In addition, the integrated security platform developed through collaboration between major companies such as SecureLayer, EdgeDX, and ISK Security attracted attention. A separate meeting between blockchain and information security companies was also held that morning. At the meeting, time was spent listening to the difficulties and voices from the field of companies and discussing effective support measures for overseas expansion and investment attraction.
The Ministry of Science and ICT has supported the overseas expansion of domestic blockchain companies through various exhibitions and meetings this year. In July, domestic technology was introduced at a meeting with the Madagascar government and the World Bank. In October, 448 export and investment consultations and 21 business agreements were signed at the Spain B4A and Dubai GITEX exhibitions. In the information security sector, visible results were achieved, such as signing export contracts and letters of intent to purchase in the US and Japanese markets through the development of an integrated security platform.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that it plans to actively support overseas expansion and investment attraction, saying, “In 2025, we will strengthen cooperation between ABLE and K-Security Alliance and cooperate with foreign governments and international organizations to showcase the excellent technological prowess of domestic blockchain companies to the global market.”
