Hashed: "Asian Market Will Lead Global Blockchain Commercialization Next Year"

The outlook suggests that the digitally-friendly Asian market will lead the global commercialization of blockchain next year.

On the 20th, Hashed, a global Web3 venture capital firm, shared the 'Hashed Thesis 2025' report on its official Medium. The report analyzed that Asia, with its digitally-friendly population, dynamic digital consumption market, and cultural tendencies familiar with collective participation, will lead the global trend of blockchain commercialization on the frontline.



Despite the recent downturn in the virtual asset market due to rising transaction fees and the global economic recession, the blockchain market is regaining momentum, centered on stable coins that have grown steadily and high-performance blockchain infrastructures with the advantages of integrity and practicality. Hashed believes that Asia is at the center of the revival of the blockchain market. The governments and large corporations of major Asian countries, including the Middle East, Japan, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia, are adopting blockchain not as speculation but as a strategic perspective. Asia's population is also tech-friendly and has relatively high mobile usage, allowing the digital market to grow rapidly. The cultural tendency to be familiar with collective participation can also promote interest and consumption in blockchain.

In addition, Hashed presented seven outlooks for the blockchain market next year. First, it is expected that stable coins will be more actively integrated with the traditional financial system. Hashed emphasized that the integration of stable coins in B2B and B2C payments will make global capital flows more flexible and improve financial efficiency. About 10% of Korea's trade payments are processed using stable coins. Stable coins can also be used as collateral assets in the lending market, creating new opportunities. By procuring capital in high-interest rate countries using stable coins and moving it to low-interest rate countries, international financial efficiency can be improved, while also providing financial accessibility to non-bank users and low-income groups.

It also focused on the growth of social media utilizing Web3 technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain. In Web3 social media, AI can generate immersive content 24/7, and the revenue is redistributed to the creators who hold the tokens. This can solve the problem of data, revenue, and personal information dominance by a few platform companies. Based on this outlook, Hashed has invested in the blockchain-based IP platform Story Protocol and the generative AI storytelling platform Sekai based on it. Sekai allows creators to protect their intellectual property rights (IP) while creating a four-panel comic in just a few minutes using generative AI and blockchain.

Hashed also forecasted △distributed intelligence △improvement of high-quality data shortage △adoption of blockchain in consumer applications △integration of messenger platforms and blockchain △exploration of high-growth assets through blockchain and modernization of existing infrastructure.

Hashed CEO Kim Seo-joon said, "Blockchain will create a new paradigm for the democratization of finance and the creator economy based on disruptive technological innovation," and "The areas that Hashed expects in 2025 include the efficiency of financial infrastructure by integrating stable coins, the decentralization of the AI ecosystem, the innovation of social media by tokenized autonomous agents, and the spread of Web3 consumer apps with the same usability as traditional apps."
