Busan City announced on the 20th that the blockchain specialized cluster creation project has produced innovative results this year and laid the foundation for expanding Busan's blockchain ecosystem.
The city has promoted the 'Regional Specialty Industry Convergence Blockchain Joint Project', which selects and promotes projects that are expected to have synergy effects between Busan's specialized industries and blockchain technology. The joint project consists of three projects (9 companies participating), and will complete verification this time and commercialize in earnest.
The 'Blockchain-based Shipping and Port Logistics Real-time Information Sharing Platform' integrates and operates shipping and port logistics data that port stakeholders had individually managed, and monitors them in real time. The city said that the operational efficiency of port logistics has been greatly improved. The platform is being promoted with the goal of being the world's first commercialization.
The 'Blockchain·AI-based Finding All-Service Platform' is a citizen participation service that allows anyone to register and return lost items without time or place restrictions. The city diagnosed that it has created a turning point that innovatively changes the lost item return culture by overcoming the limitations of the previous return rate remaining at half the level.
The 'Blockchain·AI-based Export-Import Logistics History Management Service' has digitized the complex authentication procedures of the existing manual bonded transport business using paper documents, phone calls, faxes, etc. to enable easy 24-hour processing via mobile. The city explains that it has maximized work efficiency and enhanced user accessibility and convenience.
In order to share and spread the major achievements and success stories of the blockchain specialized cluster development project, a performance sharing meeting will be held at the Asti Hotel Busan this afternoon. Approximately 150 people will attend the event, including the city, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), Busan Techno Park, the Busan Port Authority, which is the business demand organization, and business participating companies.
The city plans to use this performance sharing session to explore diverse and in-depth strategies to spread corporate performance and continuously discover projects with tangible results and competitiveness that citizens can feel.
Busan City Financial Startup Policy Officer Nam Dong-woo said, “Based on this achievement, we will foster Busan as a hub for the blockchain industry and create new growth engines,” adding, “We will pursue practical policies that citizens can feel.”
